Estimating/Project Manager Intern

This is a paid internship providing support for the project management team in developing opportunities.  You will provide assistance with the estimating process, and management of projects through completion. This opportunity allows you to learn in a supportive culture and have one-on-one mentorship as well as leadership from the whole team.

Job Environment: This position will require time in the field during the construction season. The Estimating Intern will interact on a day-to-day basis with the project management team, and the project workforce. This is a deadline-oriented role, where time requirements fluctuate according to the bid/project schedules. Some travel will be required as dictated by the work on hand. The Estimating Intern position is a temporary full-time, year-round position and will be evaluated annually for continuation or advancement.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Estimate take-offs
  • Submittals
  • Subcontractor and supplier accruement
  • Prepare schedules
  • Assist field personnel
  • Review plans and specifications
  • Solicit subcontractors for proposals by calling and emailing
  • Learn HCSS Heavy Bid software
  • Build bid forms and enter information
  • Prepare transmittal and send to owner/engineer/general contractor
  • Review invoices for approval and assist PM to get them approved
  • Run bids
  • Run plans and specs to the field
  • Run material/parts to jobsites
  • Help manage projects
  • Prepare meeting agendas
  • Build and modify schedules
